TEAM-BUILDING PROGRAM

Golf is a great sport to learn things like values, camaraderie, etiquette and respect. But it's not just about golf. High school is a time when student-athletes really begin learning about themselves and who they are in the world. In the Harriton Ram Golf Program, we recognize that we are uniquely positioned to have a positive impact in the lives of the student-athletes during their four years at Harriton. As an investment in their time in the Ram Golf Program as well as their lives after Harriton, we strive to create team-building experiences in a learning environment. Whether it's bringing in professional speakers to talk to the student-athletes about leadership and other topics relevant to students, or other fun activities.

The Varsity and JV teams visited Jefferson University Hospital's President & CEO, Dr. Stephen Klasko. Here are some notes from the day: "Don't get constrained by what's possible, but master the art of the impossible. Don't try and make an old model better, make old models obsolete by creating a new model in whatever it is you're doing. Learn from mistakes. Nobody can tell you what to do with a mistake. Change the world around you by creating a new path, not following an old path. A great team is comprised of people where everybody feels valuable and is a part of what is happening. Have fun. A great leader has to be a great follower. A great leader has to cast vision where everybody understands and is on board."

The Varsity and JV teams visited the Headquarters of the United States Golf Association in Far Hills, NJ. We were given a guided tour of the Museum and a tour & demonstrations at the famous Research & Test Center for golf equipment.
